Appreciation toward their valued services

I have entered my twitter account today and these tweets attracted me a lot since it shows how UAE rulers cares about the UAE community and don't segregate people according to their nationality, position or even their work duty description.

Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid had announce that no celebration for the Accession Day on January 4th, because our country will focus on one of the active role groups in society called "General Labor employees". Such as gardeners, janitors, construction workers and domestic workers. They really need respect and attention to what they are doing for our country and community population. These unknown soldiers needs at least the "Thank you" phrase to appreciate their hard work.

I really like the topic as I always respect this group and recognize their hard work. They really need  deep thinking and appreciation toward their valued services.

A new software experience

Camtasia Studio  8

Last week, I have planned to use Camtasia Studio 8 software for my college commitments to be unique, attractive and simple as I heard about it from my niece who is studying IT and she suggested to me for using it in my training session but I preferred to experience it in my individual projects.  Then, I have download a trial version for 30 days and after the downloading complete something interesting happened. The interesting thing was a video that appears (a starting tutorial) which helped me a lot in making my first video. The first video took a day to accomplish as I have to search and gain knowledge about using the software and because it is my first time to use the software. 

I recommend Camtasia Studio 8 to anyone who is interested in making and developing tutorials and videos as you can add symbols like arrows and boxes as well as recording your voice while picturing the screen. It is very easy to use and understand as well as you can visit their official website and they will provide you with all tutorials about almost all topics and to gain more experience about it.

Rota-virus

This post will mainly focus on brief description of Rota-virus after my comprehensive research about it. I don't know if you have figure out my absence during the last week and the reason behind it that my niece and my son has been infected by Rota-virus.

Rota-virus as defined in Wikipedia is the most common cause of severe diarrhea among infants and young children under five years and almost every children under this age have been affected once with the virus. A research has been made that result on more than 450,000 child under five years of age still die from Rota-virus infection each year in which most of them from developing countries. Additionally, almost 2 million of children have been infected and become ill.

Symptoms:

• Starts with Vomiting
• Followed by 4 days Watery diarrhoea
• And low-grade fever

Treatment:

My son and my niece have been stayed in the hospital for 3 days in which they have been given more water to drink (glucose) and salted rice water, salted yogurt drinks, vegetable and chicken soups with salt.  

Prevention:

Early vaccination to children has been the primary prevention and the World Health Organization have been recommended that the vaccination should be applied on all public health authorities with other vaccinations required and in all national immunization programs.

Tulips flowers in Holland

This nice pictures I have received from my sister yesterday and I really liked them so, I have conducted a comprehensive search about the topic and I have planned to post them.

Flowers are grown in the Netherlands, in the last month of October and early November, and the number of follicles per year to more than 3 billion, and tulips are harvested in the month of May, and two thirds of those are exported flowers after harvest to the United States and Germany. Of all the bulbous plants, the tulip is without a doubt the most popular. Tulips are grown on an extremely large scale, especially in the Netherlands where their history goes back to the end of the sixteenth century. That was when the first tulips were noticed growing in the vicinity of Leiden. Now, more than 400 years later, billions of tulips are being cultivated, the vast majority of them being exported from Holland. This goes not only for dry bulb sales but also for the cut flowers produced from the tulip bulbs. These cut flowers, available year-round in principle, are most in demand from November to May. The 'garden tulips' are the result of hybridization in which the species Tulips geriatrician played an important role. Dubai: Rain fell in parts of the country on Monday morning, reducing road visibility.Slow-moving traffic was reported on Al Khail Road, Business Bay Crossing, Shaikh Zayed Road and other key roads in Dubai.Traffic jams were also reported in exits from International City and Discovery Gardens. At least two car collisions slowed down traffic on the Dubai-Al Ain Road, a motorist told Gulf News.In Sharjah, it rained overnight, with light showers on Monday morning. Motorists reported slow-moving traffic on the Sharjah Ring Road, and towards the Airport Tunnel.Motorists heading towards Abu Dhabi also reported traffic jams and waterlogged roads.The weather will be partly cloudy in the afternoon, and in the next few days, according to the weather bureau.The Dubai Meteorologic office said there are chances of more rain throughout the morning, with an unsettled weather expected to continue throughout the day.The maximum temperature is expected to hit 23 degrees Celsius, dropping to 18 degrees Celsius on Monday night.

A Busy and A Special day

Yesterday was a busy day for me since I was conducting my teaching project in Enterprise Application and it was successfully completed with a smile in our teacher face and in my group as we worked very hard to reach the level we aimed. My best activities that I liked during the teaching preparation and the day of the presentation were the one that I have made which are the handouts (I have made them like a door hangers printed on colored papers), final activity that was my idea and I am the one who implement and finalize the activity (The activity was a new idea like an adventure and the students should guide the women until she reached the final level, the activity was contained of 7 levels and every level have a question regarding the topics covered) and the final step that I had participated on was purchasing the gifts. All stuff that I have made were in my opinion the best because after the teaching lesson every student was asking me whose idea is the activity and handouts. I am very pleased with the teaching lesson and I think it was the best for me because I didn’t rely on the notes too much that help me feel that I am the teacher.

When I returned home, I was surprised because my family arranged a small party for me as today is my birthday and my engagement anniversary. I enjoyed it very much and it was a special day that I will never forget. My family awarded me with an iPad mini and a mini iPod touch that I liked them too much and my husband gave me a diamond ring. I am very pleased and I could not observe my feelings.

My visit to SERC

Today my family and I went to Sharjah Equestrian & Racing Club. We aimed to let our children to ride a pony and enjoy their time because it free to enter the club but it cost Dhs 20 to get a ride with an assistant for 10 - 20 minutes. It was very fun, interesting and astonishing atmosphere because there a horse racing event was taken place at the same time. SERC provides a various types of services such as quarantine, livery, stables rent, import and export, breeding center, and transportation. Moreover, SERC facilities are stables, race truck, indoor, arenas and equine hospital.The SERC was established in 1982 as the first equestrian club in the UAE.

Interesting Work Experience

My Two months experience at Deloitte and Touche 

My work experience was at Deloitte and Touche in Dubai that started when my friend told me to enter this company as she experienced it. After that, the college provided us with the list of companies that needs interns to train them. Deloitte and Touche was one of those companies that were included in the list and needs two students. My friend and I chose it as a first choice and two other companies in case if something happen. After the first semester, they called us to visit them on Tuesday, Dec 30th 2008 at 12:30 pm to do the psychometric test that contains of three tests. We have to achieve all of them in order to accept us, so we completed the three tests with a success as they will accept us by replying their email and we started the internship on Sunday, 2^nd Apr 2009.

Deloitte & Touche didn’t prepare a work plan for the eight weeks of my experience. As in the audit department, it is very difficult to prepare a work plan because the clients and seniors will vary. Furthermore, they prepared a general plan, so in the first week interns stayed in the accounting department and the remaining seven weeks we experienced in audit department. The company provided us with a first day plan, a whole bag of helpful resources and Ahlan booklet that was useful to know company’s policies and procedures. We started our day with an induction that the company provided which contains a presentation about the firm, a tour around the company, fingerprint access and laptop collection. Moreover, the company offered the new joiners (both audit interns and permanent employee) with a buddy that will help us if we have questions or we need assistant. At 1:00 pm, all new joiners went to take lunch at Chilies with two auditors Faizal and Tina in which Tina was one of the buddy’s.

Recurring skills that improved during the work experience

o   Reading skills as I read a lot of audit reports.
o   Communication skills as I have o ask the client for the documents that I need.
o   Checking skill as I checked the calculation, grammar and punctuation mistakes many audit reports and bank budgets.
o   Typing skills as all of our work was using the laptop.
o   Microsoft Office Excel skills as it were the main software that we used to do our work at Deloitte.
o   Accounting skills as our job is to refer to all accounting processes.
o   Time management skills as we leave early and arrived earlier than the auditors.
o   Problem solving skills as we faced a lot of problems but we solved by neither asking auditors nor writing comments in the weekly log.

New skills that we gained during the work experience

o   Audit Procedures as I described in the above section.
o The steps that the auditors look for.
o    How to reference the documents in the Audit File that contains of 8 sections.
o   Preparing Bank facilities document in Microsoft Office Word.
o   Using AD2SM software.
o   CUSDOG method: Debit accounts we test them as overstatement and we use general ledger and trial balance to select our samples. Credit accounts we test them as understatement and we test invoices and purchase orders.
o   Vouchering and documentation skills.

It was a very interesting experience and in my opinion, the experience that I have gained from Deloitte & Touche can’t summarize in a report or presentation. It is something I will remember all the time with a smile in my face. This experience assisted me in learning myself more, therefore, everyone was telling me that I am shy, but now I see my self as responsible person, dependable, confident and finishing tasks on time.
